My son attended your QB school and I would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks. He is having some real success both on and off the field and we believe (my son and I both) that your school has had a lot to do with this. He attended your school. He came out a different player. He especially grew from your leadership development segments. He now knows the expectations of his teammates, his coaches and the community. Of course the technical skills have paid off as well.
Most importantly, you impacted his character. While he has always been respectful, he seems to better understand the impact. He handles himself differently, and in a more mature manner. Your words impacted him.
In conclusion, I thank you so much for your dedication, passion and teaching skills. It has really impacted his life as a player and most importantly, as an individual.
Thanks for making a difference!

I don’t know if you remember my son Alex. We came down to the camp in Canton for two years from Toronto-the only Canadian kid in your Canton camp. He came to you in July 2007 to learn how to play quarterback the proper way-you taught him and he worked hard at it-listening to everything you talked about and putting in the training time. He transferred to Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville Georgia to play his senior year in the United States (his dream).
I just wanted to thank you for your teaching and powerful influence on my son. As a son Christian man trying to do the right thing, you made it easy for him to follow his faith and his dream of competing against the best. It was truly a “God-thing” that we found you and your camp and I want to let you know you are appreciated.
Thank you again, Greg O’Donnell 2008 |
I wanted to drop you a note thanking you for the time spent with my son. I think you were able to get more done with him in the first 30 minutes than we have be able to get done in the last five years. I appreciate your patience, professionalism, and detailed instruction. I think he has told fifty people about it since last week, and how much he learned as well as the fun he had. We look forward to returning in the future.

There's no doubt that the reason I've had the opportunity to be here and play at this level is because of what Terry Copacia taught me. He pushed me to be my best. He taught me the fundamentals of quarterbacking and reading defenses and how to handle yourself on the field.
Through my experiences with Coach Copacia, I have developed the skills that are required to play college and professional football. The importance of the drills learned in this camp cannot be stressed enough even at the college level.

Terry,
I know you are busy preparing for the coming season but I wanted to report on the impact your camp had on my son. Matt worked diligently on the footwork and the proper throwing technique and it was a struggle. He never got discouraged but had periods of frustration. He has made steady progress and is currently competing for the starting QB position on the freshman team. The most notable difference between Matt and the other kids is his release is much quicker. This would not be the case without your instruction. Thanks.
Matt told me that he wants to attend your camp every summer to "get the basics" from you. The main area of deficiency in his technique is lack of power from not using his hips well. He is working on it and has moments where it all comes together but there is no consistency yet. His footwork on the 3 and 5 step is superior to his competition. Thanks again.
Finally, your approach to the game has Matt heads and shoulders above his competition. He is having fun and, and you can tell, so am I. We'll send you updates periodically just for grins but please know your camp has had a profound impact on my son. You've helped a good kid along the road to reaching his goals.
Good Luck this season and see you next summer,
Tom Dodds

Dear Coach Copacia,
My name is Alfred W. Minor III and I have attended your All-State Quarterback camp for five consecutive years. I will be forever grateful to you for the quality coaching and leadership training you provided several players in my area including myself.
I played backup quarterback until my senior year. As the starting quarterback this year i threw for more than 2100 yards passing, with twenty-three touchdowns. This enabled me to become the third QB ever to throw for over 2,000 yards in the history of my high school (Meadowdale).
Once again i want to thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. i know that my season would never have been this successful without all the lectures and training you and your staff provided me.
Sincerely,
Alfred W. Minor III

Summer 2003
Dear Coach Copacia,
I just wanted to drop you an email and sincerely thank you for making time in your busy schedule for a private session at your quarterback school in Missouri. It was very helpful and generous of you to do that and Mitch and I really appreciate it. Also, I want to compliment you on how well run your clinic was. Out here in the Midwest it is a real challenge (if not impossible) to find legitimate clinics... especially something as specialized as a quarterback school.
Like many things in life, I wish we had known about you sooner but better late than not at all! I found you strictly through my own research on the internet. I will certainly recommend you to every quarterback I know. My son received more coaching on passing mechanics in those two days than he has received in his life prior to your school. I don't say that as a knock on his coaches... they are dedicated and hardworking men who certainly have his best interest at heart but just don't have the expertise in the nuts and bolts of passing mechanics. Much of what you had to say at your camp hit very close to home.
Mitch was forced into a starting role at quarterback as a FRESHMAN at a 5A high school (in Kansas that is the second largest classification). He handled it very well and actually flourished but you talk about the school of hard knocks (literally). I would not wish that on any kid (or his parents!) That freshman year was long and scary for his father! As a sophomore he was second in the conference in passing and third in the conference in rushing and made honorable mention All-State but he had a really good supporting cast and one really outstanding receiver this year.
His junior year he was a very dominate runner but his passing struggled at times in large part because he lost all but one of his starting offensive linemen and his best receiver. He still manages honorable mention again but I could tell his confidence in the passing game suffered as a result. Your camp was just what the doctor ordered. It gave him a lot of tools to work with besides just his athletic ability. Now he can develop a workout routine as well as diagnose some problems and figure out some solutions on his own. We have been to camps before and for the first time felt like we actually learned a lot. I can't thank you enough! I wish we were just a little closer to Michigan... we would take advantage of more private session in a heartbeat! Maybe we need to go the great state of Michigan for our vacation this summer.
Again, THANK YOU! You and your school EXCEEDED our expectations!
Sincerely,
Dave Pontious

Coach Terry Copacia,
I just want to take a moment to let you know how much we enjoyed your Quarterback School at College Station, Texas. Josh really learned a great deal and will certainly reap the benefits this coming fall.
More important than the specialized skills he acquired over those two days, is perhaps the confidence you instilled in him. He is new to the position and had doubt as to whether or not he could play quarterback. Part of that I think is that he will be following in his brother's footsteps who is the school's leading passer, and who will be playing at the next level this coming fall.
Out of all the good things that came out of this camp, I think this was perhaps the most important. Not that all the other stuff was not important, but you know as well as I know that confidence is essential in someone playing this position.
I have been to several camps, but I can tell you that none of them covered the details of the position like you did. Like yourself, I learned from simulating others. These kids have such an advantage of having been "taught" the detailed skills and intangibles involved in playing the position.
I could go on and on with how much I was impressed with your quarterback school. Let me just finish with expressing my gratitude for traveling to Texas to share your knowledge and expertise. I think your enthusiasm is a by-product of your passion for what you do. I know you mentioned that it was your goal to have the top quarterback camp in the nation. Well, I think you are well on your way in accomplishing that goal.
If I can ever be of assistance, or if I can somehow promote or provide a written testimony in helping you promote your camp, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Again, thanks for sharing your information with us in Texas. It was certainly worth the 12 hour drive! We wish you continued success with your camps as well as with your upcoming season.
Respectfully,
Richard F. Chacon El Paso, Texas

"I attended Terry Copacia's quarterback camp for four
years. I felt like I learned something new every year. I came away with a better
understanding of the fundamentals needed to be a successful quarterback. From
footwork to throwing mechanics, the drills and techniques I learned were things
that I used in everyday in practice and games. There is no doubt that they helped
me improve. Terry does a great job of teaching quarterbacks and I know the camp
helped me become a much better quarterback."
