A Foreword to All Quarterbacks
The most important thing you can do as a quarterback is to learn your own offense as well as your coaches know it. Remember, your coach is the most important person in your success. Listen to him, respect him, and learn from him. Develop a good relationship that results in your coaching staff and team having trust in your judgment.
As a quarterback, you become a reflection of your school, your coaching staff and even your community. Your appearance, attitude, performance and decision-making abilities will be scrutinized by many. It is for these reasons that you must be properly prepared!
Playing quarterback can be one of your most memorable and most gratifying experiences. It can also be one of your best learning experiences. If however, you are not prepared, it can be one of the worst experiences of your life. Understanding the mental aspects of quarterbacking separates the "great" ones from the "good" ones. Don't be one of those young athletes who give up before they ever reach their potential.
Work to be the best at whatever you do and you'll never regret it!
Good Luck,
Terry L. Copacia
